Cottage country routes we run
Most cottage moves start in the GTA and end somewhere north or east of it. These are the regions
we run most often:
- Muskoka – Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville and the Lake Muskoka, Rosseau
and Joseph shorelines. - Kawartha Lakes – Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Buckhorn and the Trent-Severn
waterway communities. - Haliburton Highlands – Minden, Haliburton village and the surrounding lakes.

Timing a cottage move
Cottage moves cluster hard around opening and closing weekends. The May long weekend and the
September and October closing period are the busiest dates of the season, and they book out first.
If your dates are fixed by a closing or a rental changeover, book as far ahead as you can. If they
are flexible, midweek dates outside those windows are easier to secure.
Winter access is its own consideration. Private roads and long driveways are not always plowed to
a standard a loaded truck can use, so tell us what the final approach looks like before the date is
confirmed.
Access at the cottage
Cottage properties are where a move most often runs into a problem the crew could not see coming.
Before booking, check and tell us about:
- Private or seasonal roads, and any weight or width restrictions on them.
- Driveway length, gradient and turning space for a full-size truck.
- Water-access-only properties, which need a barge or boat transfer arranged separately.
- Stairs down to the water, decks and docks, which change how long a job takes.
- Low branches or narrow gateposts on the final approach.
Send photos of the driveway and the approach when you book. It is the single most useful thing
you can do to keep a cottage move on schedule.
Storage between seasons
If you are closing a cottage and not moving the contents straight to another property,
storage services can hold furniture between seasons so it is
not sitting in an unheated building over winter.

Are you available to do vacation moves year-round?
Yes! We’re available to do moves to cottages or vacation homes all year round. We’re available 7 days a week in the morning or at night.
When you book with us, we’ll discuss the best day and hour to get your move done.
Do you do cross-province cottage moves?
Yes we do! We move people to cottages in Ontario as well as other provinces. Though we specialize in Ontario moves, we also have training and equipment for long-distance moves outside of the province.
How far in advance should I book movers for my vacation move?
We ask that our customers book our moving services for cottages 6 to 8 weeks in advance. That will give us enough time to give you a custom moving plan and figure out the logistics before moving day!
Can you move belongings if the cottage is only accessible by boat?
Unfortunately, no. We’re unable to reach your cottage if it cannot be accessible by land vehicles.
Do you move belongings to remote or waterfront cottages?
Yep! Aside from cottages or vacation homes that can only be accessed by boat, we move to remote, off-grid, or lakeside cottages and vacation homes.
Do you provide packing/unpacking services for cottage or vacation home moves?
While you’re welcome to pack your own belongings and items, we do provide packing and unpacking services for an additional fee. We make sure your items are securely wrapped, boxed, and transported so that they arrive securely at your house, cottage, or vacation home.
Can you move large cottage items?
Yes! We have the muscles, padding, and packaging to move large cottage items like canoes, watercrafts, pianos, and more.
Please reach out and ask if we’re able to help you move certain specialty items as we don’t move any dangerous belongings or hot tubs and jacuzzis.
What if the road to my cottage is narrow, unpaved, or seasonal?
Not a problem! With our expert navigation, we’ll get your items to your cottage or vacation home safely. Whether we need to take a smaller truck or prepare backup trucks, we guarantee your move will be planned thoroughly and completed.
